Come and watch me tomorrow night as I will be drifting in a 240sx!

Starts at 6pm, at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler. Take the I-10 freeway south until Wild Horse Pass BLVD. (Exit 162), and you are going to hang a left on Maricopa Road.

The entry fee is $10 to spectate.

I remember the back in the day with the Need For Speed (NFS) Hot Pursuit, the good old school NFS games. Now-a-days NFS went into the tuner scene, but are now trying to go back to their Racing routes.

Taking over the world by storm is the Drift scene. Having been following it, and trying to get into it myself. The Arizona Drifters are a sight to see.

But this mode in NFS Shift, looks promising, better than the other NFS games at least. Working closely with EA, Vaughn Gitten Jr, made sure
that the drifting was closely simulating real-life situations.

Over 70 new cars! Hmm I may have to buy this game.

Need For Speed SHIFT is due out September 22nd.

Reppin’ for the Arizona Drift community fellow ASU student, Roy Dufek, conducted interviews & portrayed a mini-documentary on the art & sport of Drifting for his major in Film.

This was all taken place at the Modified Magazine Tuner Shootout event hosted by Firebird International Raceway.

Have you ever wondered which is faster out of a Bugatti, or a McLaren? Top Gear has setup a drag-style race over the distance of one mile.

The Bugatti Veyron sports a 8.0L Quad-Turbocharged W16 Engine (A W16 engine, is two V8′s, put together in a W configuration), Having 4 Camshafts this beast puts out 1001 BHP (base horsepower), and 920 Ft. lbs. of torque.

The Veyron also runs a special set of Michelin run-flat tires, which only cost around $25,000. To accomodate the massive 64 valved engine, the Bugatti has 10 radiators to keep it very cool. With weighing in at 4,160 LB’s, a heavy thing, and with the power behind that weight, it get’s to ~ 253 MPH.

I also had an opportunity to see the Veyron at a car show here in Arizona at Firebird Raceway, the car is very wide. At a $1.5 Million dollar price tag, good luck on getting a hold of 1 out of the 200 that have been made so far.

The McLaren F1 is also a sight to see. Ranging from $2-4 Million dollars, you will be lucky to get your hands on, or even looking at 1 of the only 106 ever made. With a top speed of ~240 MPH, the 6.1L V12 is pushing out 627 BHP, and 480 FT. LB. of torque.
